Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has an overall score of 74.5, which is much better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's 66.3 global score. Both of these tablets include Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4, so it offers a couple additional features. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5's body is noticeably newer than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's, but it is a bit thicker and heavier.

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5, although it has a lower number of cores and lesser RAM.
