Comparison review

The Galaxy S6 has an overall score of 87.3, which is slightly better than Galaxy Note8's overall score of 83. Galaxy S6's design is extremely thinner and noticeably lighter than Galaxy Note8, although it was released 3 years before. These phones have Android OS, but Galaxy S6 has 5.0 version while Galaxy Note8 has Android 9.0 Pie.

Galaxy S6 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has lesser RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Galaxy S6 also counts with an extra graphics processing unit and a 64-bits CPU. The Samsung Galaxy S6 counts with a more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a little bit smaller screen and a bit worse 2560 x 1440 resolution, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch in the display.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy S6, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 256 GB. Samsung Galaxy S6 shoots just a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is worse for low-light images and videos and a smaller camera sensor capturing less light and washed colors, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Samsung Galaxy S6 also counts with a lot more MP camera in the back.

Galaxy Note8 counts with improved battery life than Samsung Galaxy S6, because it has a 29% greater battery size.

Although Galaxy S6 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Note8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Note8. If you want to save some money, you can buy the Galaxy Note8, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
