Both phones we are comparing here have Android operating system, but Sony Xperia Z3 has the older 4.4.4 version and Moto X (2014) has Android 5.0. Sony Xperia Z3's construction is thinner but heavier than Moto X (2014), and both of them were released with only a couple of months difference.
