The iPad Air has an overall score of 75.7, which is better than the Microsoft Surface Pro's 63.2 overall score. The iPad Air works with iOS 8.x operating system, while Microsoft Surface Pro comes with Windows 8 Pro operating system. IPad Air is a newer tablet, and it is also much thinner and notably lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro.

The iPad Air features a brighter display than Microsoft Surface Pro, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a greater pixel amount per screen inch and a better 1536 x 2048 resolution. Apple iPad Air counts with a bit better performance than Microsoft Surface Pro, because although it has lesser RAM and a worse graphics processor working at 600 megahertz, and they both have 2 CPU cores, the Apple iPad Air also counts with a 64-bits processor.

The iPad Air has a way better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro, because it has a camera in the back with a way better 5 mega-pixels resolution and a way better video resolution.
