Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, getting a 75.8 score against 72.1. Both of these tablets include the same Android 4.4.2 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't see any difference in that aspect. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) body is older, heavier and thicker than Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a little bit better processing power than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has 4 lesser cores , and they both have a 3 GB RAM, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also counts with an extra graphics processing unit. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a slightly better looking display than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1600 x 2560, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also counts with a just a little better pixels number in each inch of display.

If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and give up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
