Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a general score of 60.1, which is a little bit better than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7's 59.2 global score. These devices have Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a more recent 5.0 version and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2 version. Even though the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is just a little heavier than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, it's somewhat thinner and also newer.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has a much more vibrant display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a lot higher pixel count per inch in the display. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a quite bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, because although it has only 16 GB internal storage, it also counts with an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB.

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has an extremely better CPU than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a larger amount of RAM, 3 more processing cores and an additional graphics co-processor. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a lot better camera than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a much better battery life than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a better device, it costs more than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, else you can save some money and buy the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, resigning some specifications.
