The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a score of 60.1, which is a little bit better than the Asus Fonepad 7's 58.9 score. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 construction is a little bit heavier but a lot thinner than the Asus Fonepad 7. Both tablets in this review work with the same Android 5.0 OS (operating system). Asus Fonepad 7 features a brighter screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and more pixels per inch in the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has just a bit bigger storage for applications and games than Asus Fonepad 7, and although they both have equal 16 GB internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB. The Asus Fonepad 7 has a greater hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has more cores, 512 MB more RAM memory and a 64-bit processor.
The Asus Fonepad 7's camera is just as good as Galaxy Tab A 8.0's camera, and although the Asus Fonepad 7 has a much higher (Full HD) video definition, they both have a same resolution back-facing camera. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 counts with a very superior battery life than Asus Fonepad 7.
Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a better device, it costs more money than Asus Fonepad 7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Asus Fonepad 7. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Galaxy Tab A 8.0, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Asus Fonepad 7, giving up a couple specs and features.
