The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a bit sharper display than Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, because although it has a much smaller display, and they both have the same 2560 x 1600 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also counts with more pixels per screen inch. The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has a lower number of cores (although faster), and they both have the same RAM amount, the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 also counts with an additional graphics processor.

The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 counts with a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have the same resolution back camera and the same (Full HD) video quality, the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 also has faster 60 fps video frame rate. Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 counts with a better storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 64 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with 32 GB internal storage.

The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 counts with a way better battery duration than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has 9500mAh of battery capacity against 4900mAh.

Although Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
