Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is way better than Acer Iconia One 8, with a 67.9 score against 53.7. Both of these devices have Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has 4.4 version while Acer Iconia One 8 has Android 5.1 Lollipop version. Although the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is older and a little bit heavier than the Acer Iconia One 8, it's construction is still thinner.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a superior hardware performance than Acer Iconia One 8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has more RAM. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a much more vibrant screen than Acer Iconia One 8, because it has a lot more pixels per screen inch, a quite larger screen and a much higher 1600 x 2560 resolution.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 captures much better videos and photos than Acer Iconia One 8, because it has a lot higher 8 mega pixels resolution back facing camera. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a greater storage capacity to store more apps and games than Acer Iconia One 8, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 48 GB more internal memory capacity.
Acer Iconia One 8 counts with a really longer battery duration than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Acer Iconia One 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Acer Iconia One 8. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Acer Iconia One 8, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
