Sony Tablet S has a global score of 57.5, which is slightly better than the Acer Iconia Tab A510's general score of 55.4. Sony Tablet S is an older tablet than Acer Iconia Tab A510, but it's a little bit thinner and lighter anyway. These tablets use the same Android 4.0 OS. The Acer Iconia Tab A510 and the Sony Tablet S feature extremely similar screens, because although the Sony Tablet S has a quite smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280px resolution, it also counts with a just a little more pixels per inch in the screen.
The Sony Tablet S and Acer Iconia Tab A510 both have extremely similar storage for games and applications, both have the same internal storage and a SD card slot that holds up to 32 GB. Acer Iconia Tab A510 has a little bit better performance than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have a 1 GB RAM, the Acer Iconia Tab A510 also has a greater number of faster cores.
The Sony Tablet S features a very superior camera than Acer Iconia Tab A510. Both of them have the same 1280x720 video resolution, the same video frame rates and a camera in the back with a 5 megapixels. The Acer Iconia Tab A510 has a very superior battery duration than Sony Tablet S, because it has 9800mAh of battery capacity.
Although Sony Tablet S is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Acer Iconia Tab A510, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Acer Iconia Tab A510. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Acer Iconia Tab A510, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
