Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 has a score of 63.4, which is much better than the Acer Iconia W3's 57.3 global score. These devices use Windows OS (Operating System), but Microsoft Surface 2 has newer RT 8.1 version and Acer Iconia W3 has Windows 8 Pro version, giving you some nice extra features. Microsoft Surface 2's construction is extremely heavier but thinner than Acer Iconia W3.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit faster CPU than Acer Iconia W3, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a higher number of cores. The Acer Iconia W3 counts with just a bit better looking display than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a little lower quantity of pixels per inch of screen, a lot lower 800 x 1280px resolution and a really smaller display.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a superior camera than Acer Iconia W3, because it has a lot more mega pixels back facing camera. The Microsoft Surface 2 and Acer Iconia W3 both count with incredibly similar storage to store more games and applications, and although the Microsoft Surface 2 has no SD extension slot, they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Acer Iconia W3 features a much longer battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Acer Iconia W3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Acer Iconia W3. If you want to save some money, you can buy Acer Iconia W3, giving up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
