Xperia Tablet S has an overall score of 58.9, which is a bit better than Acer Iconia W3's 57.3 global score. Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1 OS, while Acer Iconia W3 has Windows 8 Pro OS. Despite being the best tablet device in this comparison review, Xperia Tablet S's construction is heavier and somewhat thicker than Acer Iconia W3.
Acer Iconia W3 features a better looking screen than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, the Acer Iconia W3 also counts with a little bit better amount of pixels in each inch in the screen. The Sony Xperia Tablet S has a bit more powerful processor than Acer Iconia W3, because although it has 1 GB less RAM memory, it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor and 2 more cores (although slower).
Xperia Tablet S captures much clearer pictures and videos than Acer Iconia W3, because it has a lot better resolution back-facing camera. The Xperia Tablet S counts with a much better storage capacity to install games and applications than Acer Iconia W3. They have equal internal storage. Acer Iconia W3 has a much longer battery duration than Sony Xperia Tablet S.
Although Xperia Tablet S is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia W3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia W3. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Xperia Tablet S, else you can save some money and get the Acer Iconia W3, giving up some specifications.
