Comparison review

The Acer Iconia W4 is a little bit better than Microsoft Surface RT, having a score of 59.3 against 58.4. The Acer Iconia W4 is a much lighter but a little thicker device than the Microsoft Surface RT. Both devices we compare here work with Windows OS (operating system), but Acer Iconia W4 has an older 8.1 version and Microsoft Surface RT has Windows RT version.

Microsoft Surface RT has just a bit better processing power than Acer Iconia W4, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM and 4 cpu cores, the Microsoft Surface RT also has an additional graphics co-processor. Acer Iconia W4 features a sharper screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a bit worse 800 x 1280 resolution and a much smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixel density.

Acer Iconia W4 captures much better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video resolution, the Acer Iconia W4 also has a camera with way more mega-pixels. The Microsoft Surface RT's memory to install games and applications is very similar to the Acer Iconia W4 one, and although the Microsoft Surface RT has no SD memory card expansion slot, they both have equal internal memory capacity.

The Acer Iconia W4 features a way better battery life than Microsoft Surface RT.

Although Acer Iconia W4 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Microsoft Surface RT. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Acer Iconia W4, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Microsoft Surface RT, letting go a couple features and specs.
