Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an overall score of 67.9, which is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021)'s 62.8 general score. Both devices we are comparing here have Android OS, but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has the previous 4.4 version while Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) has Android 9.0 Pie. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is an noticeably older portable tablet than Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021), but Amazon was able to build it somewhat lighter and thinner anyway.
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) and the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 feature incredibly similar processing units, although the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has 4 lesser processing cores and lesser RAM memory. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a much better looking screen than Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021), because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher display density and a better 1600 x 2560 resolution.
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) features much more storage capacity for games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 and Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) feature very similar batteries.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021), because it has a lot more megapixels camera in the back and a lot better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
