The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a general score of 67.9, which is way better than the Amazon Fire HD 6's score of 55. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's construction is a lot thinner but way heavier than Amazon Fire HD 6, and both of them were released only a couple of months apart. These devices include the same Android 4.4 OS, so you shouldn't see any differences regarding that.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have 4 processing cores, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a sharper display than Amazon Fire HD 6, because it has a greater screen pixels density, a lot better 1600 x 2560px resolution and a way bigger display.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a very superior memory capacity to store more apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 6, because it has 64 GB internal storage. Amazon Fire HD 6 and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 feature quite similar battery performance.
