Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 6, having a score of 63.4 against 55. Even though the Microsoft Surface 2 is older and way heavier than Amazon Fire HD 6, it's body is still thinner. The Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Amazon Fire HD 6 counts with Android 4.4 OS.
The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a higher amount of RAM. The Amazon Fire HD 6 has a bit more vivid display than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a way worse resolution of 1280 x 800 and a way smaller screen, it also counts with a little bit higher display pixel density.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a superior memory to store more games and applications than Amazon Fire HD 6, because it has more internal memory. The Microsoft Surface 2 and Amazon Fire HD 6 both feature very similar batteries. The Microsoft Surface 2 has a much better camera than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a lot higher 5 mega pixels resolution camera.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Amazon Fire HD 6, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 6. If you are trying to save some money, you can get the Amazon Fire HD 6, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
