The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is better than the Amazon Fire HD 6, getting a 62.8 score against 55. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 design is much thinner but just a little heavier than the Amazon Fire HD 6, and both were released only a few months apart. Both of these tablets use Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a more recent 7.1 Nougat version and Amazon Fire HD 6 has Android 4.4 version.

The Amazon Fire HD 6 has a lot better display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a really smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher screen density and a little higher 1280 x 800 resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a very superior battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 6. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 shoots much better photographs and videos than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have the same (HD) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a back-facing camera with a way higher resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 costs a lot more than the Amazon Fire HD 6, but it's still a convenient choice, as you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
