The Microsoft Surface Go is better than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), with a overall score of 66.5 against 58.6. Even though the Microsoft Surface Go is older and heavier than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), it's design is still somewhat thinner. The Microsoft Surface Go has Windows 10 operating system, while Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
Microsoft Surface Go features a little more vivid display than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a lot higher 1800 x 1200 resolution, a larger display and a bit greater pixels density. Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with slightly more memory capacity for apps and games than Microsoft Surface Go, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a SD memory slot that admits up to 1000 GB.
Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has just a little better performance than Microsoft Surface Go, because although it has 6 GB less RAM memory, it also counts with a higher number of cores (and also faster). Microsoft Surface Go's battery performance is just as good as Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s battery performance.

So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Go, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), resigning some features and specs.
