The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is slightly better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), getting a general score of 60.5 against 58.6. Both of these devices include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has the previous 7.1 Nougat version and Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie version. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is a much older and much heavier tablet than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Samsung was able to build it thinner anyway.

Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) also has 512 MB more RAM memory.
