Both tablets in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has older 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie. Despite of the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is noticeably older than the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), it's design is just a little thinner and noticeably lighter.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a much better looking screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1280 x 800, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 also counts with a just a little higher screen pixels density. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) also has a higher amount of RAM.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) features a lot bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that admits a maximum of 1000 GB and more internal storage. Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a really longer battery lifetime than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020).
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 takes way better photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and although they both have the same 1280x720 video quality and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 also has a back facing camera with a way better 3 MP resolution.
