The Amazon Fire HD 7 is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8, getting a 53.9 score against 53.3. The Amazon Fire HD 7 is an older, just a little heavier and incredibly thicker portable tablet than the Amazon Fire HD 8. Both devices in this comparison review use Android operating system, but the Amazon Fire HD 7 has 4.4 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 version.

The Amazon Fire HD 7 features a bit superior processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 8, and although they both have 1 GB of RAM, the Amazon Fire HD 7 also has 3 more 1.5 gigahertz processing cores. The Amazon Fire HD 7 has a more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same 1280 x 800 resolution, the Amazon Fire HD 7 also counts with a just a bit greater screen pixels density.

Amazon Fire HD 8 captures a bit better photographs and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a much more mega pixels back facing camera.
