Comparison review
Microsoft Surface RT is a little bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8, having a overall score of 58.4 against 53.3. Despite being the best portable tablet we are comparing here, Microsoft Surface RT's body is older, notably heavier and somewhat thicker than Amazon Fire HD 8. The Microsoft Surface RT works with Windows RT OS, while Amazon Fire HD 8 comes with Android 5.0 OS.
Microsoft Surface RT features a little bit better hardware performance than Amazon Fire HD 8, because it has a higher amount of RAM memory, an extra graphics co-processor and a larger number of cores. Amazon Fire HD 8 counts with a bit better looking display than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a bit worse 1280 x 800px resolution and a lot smaller screen, it also counts with a higher display pixel density.
Microsoft Surface RT has more memory for apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 48 GB more internal storage. Amazon Fire HD 8 captures way better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and the same video frame rate, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a camera in the back with a way higher resolution.
Microsoft Surface RT has a battery duration that is just as good as the battery lifetime in Amazon Fire HD 8.
Microsoft Surface RT not only is the best tablets in our comparison, but it's also by far the cheapest.
