Google Nexus 7 (2013) is a little bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, getting a 70.7 score against 65.1. Both tablets in this review work with Android operating system, but the Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a newer 5.0 version while Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4. The Google Nexus 7 (2013) construction is extremely lighter than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but it is thicker and was released about a year before.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a little bit better looking screen than Google Nexus 7 (2013), because it has a just a bit more pixels per display inch, a higher resolution of 1600 x 2560px and a bigger display. Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has more internal memory capacity.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a little better hardware performance than Google Nexus 7 (2013), although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, they both have 4 cpu cores and the same RAM memory amount. Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a way better battery life than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9. The Google Nexus 7 (2013)'s camera is just as good as the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 one, although the Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a smaller diafragm aperture, a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition and a lot less megapixels camera in the back.
In addition to being the best tablet of the ones we compare here, Google Nexus 7 (2013) is also a bargain compared to the other tablets.
