Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is better than the Acer Iconia W4, with a overall score of 67.9 against 59.3. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's design is incredibly thinner and somewhat lighter than Acer Iconia W4. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 comes with Android 4.4 OS, and Acer Iconia W4 counts with Windows 8.1 OS. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a brighter display than Acer Iconia W4, because it has a way greater pixel number per inch of screen, a little bigger display and a much better resolution of 1600 x 2560.
