Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a general score of 67.9, which is better than the Acer Predator 8's 57.7 overall score. Even though the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is older and a little bit heavier than the Acer Predator 8, it's body is still somewhat thinner. Both tablets in this review include Android OS (operating system), but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has older 4.4 version while Acer Predator 8 has Android 5.1 Lollipop version.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit better hardware performance than Acer Predator 8. Both of them have 2 GB of RAM and a Quad-Core processing unit. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a lot better display than Acer Predator 8, because it has a just a little greater pixels amount per inch of screen, a higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 and a little larger display.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a better camera than Acer Predator 8, because it has a camera in the back with way more mega-pixels. The Acer Predator 8 counts with a bit bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has just 32 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external SD slot that allows up to 128 GB.
