Comparison review
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is better than the Huawei MediaPad M1, getting a global score of 67.9 against 61.5. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 body is heavier but a little bit thinner than the Huawei MediaPad M1, and both were released only a couple of months apart. These devices come with Android OS (operating system), but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a more recent 4.4 version while Huawei MediaPad M1 has Android 4.2.2 version.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a little better processing power than Huawei MediaPad M1, and although they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a brighter display than Huawei MediaPad M1, because it has a way better pixels quantity per screen inch, a little larger screen and a much better resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a way bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei MediaPad M1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 56 GB more internal storage capacity. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a much better camera than Huawei MediaPad M1, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a camera with lot more mega pixels.
Huawei MediaPad M1 counts with a much longer battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei MediaPad M1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Huawei MediaPad M1. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Huawei MediaPad M1, resigning some specs and features.
