The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a global score of 67.9, which is just a bit better than Samsung ATIV Tab 3's overall score of 65. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a newer tablet, and it's also incredibly lighter and a bit thinner than Samsung ATIV Tab 3. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 comes with Android 4.4 OS, while Samsung ATIV Tab 3 works with Windows 8 OS.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a much more vibrant screen than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 1600 x 2560 and a lot greater pixels count per inch of screen. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features just a little better processing power than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a higher number of cores.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes much clearer pictures and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video quality, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a camera with way more MP. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 and Samsung ATIV Tab 3 both count with similar memory capacity to store more apps and games, both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Samsung ATIV Tab 3 features a battery life that's just as good as the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 one.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung ATIV Tab 3. If you want to save some money, you can get Samsung ATIV Tab 3, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
