Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a general score of 67.9, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1's 67.8 score. Both tablets we are comparing here work with Android operating system, but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has older 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has Android 4.4.2 version. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's body is just a little thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, even though both of them were released only a couple of months apart.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit superior processing unit than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, and they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with more RAM memory. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a way better screen than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher resolution of 1600 x 2560px and a way greater display density.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because it has a lot higher video resolution and a back-facing camera with much more megapixels. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with much more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.
Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a really longer battery lifetime than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, giving up a couple specs and features.
