The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is better than the Galaxy Tab A (2016), having a general score of 67.9 against 60.4. Even though Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is older and notably heavier than Galaxy Tab A (2016), it's construction is still thinner. Both tablets in this comparison review have Android operating system, but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an older 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab A (2016) has Android 5.1 Lollipop version.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a much better looking display than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a way higher resolution of 1600 x 2560px, a larger display and way more pixels per inch in the display. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), and although they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a higher amount of RAM memory.

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with just a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a lot higher (Full HD) video definition and a way better resolution back camera.
