The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, getting a overall score of 72.1 against 67.9. These devices include Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has a more recent 4.4.2 version and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4, so it gives you some nice extra features and performance improvements. Galaxy Tab S 10.5's design is somewhat heavier but somewhat thinner than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, and they were released only 4 months apart.
