Although LG G Pad X 8.3 is a little bit heavier than Amazon Kindle Fire HD (2013), it's thinner and also newer. Both of these devices have Android OS (operating system), but the LG G Pad X 8.3 has a newer 5.0 version while Amazon Kindle Fire HD (2013) has Android 4.2.2 version.
