The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a global score of 65.7, which is a bit better than Apple iPad 10.2 (2020)'s 62.2 general score. Even though Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is a lot older and somewhat thicker than Apple iPad 10.2 (2020), it's construction is still extremely lighter. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) works with Android 9.0 Pie operating system, while Apple iPad 10.2 (2020) counts with iPadOS 18.x operating system.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) features a much better performing processor than Apple iPad 10.2 (2020), although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory and a lower number of cores (but faster). The iPad 10.2 (2020) features a brighter screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because it has a better screen pixels density, a way better resolution of 1620 x 2160 and a bigger display.
