IPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) has an overall score of 81.1, which is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab S4's 78.8 overall score. Although iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) and Galaxy Tab S4 were released with only 3 months difference, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) body is somewhat thinner but also noticeably heavier.
The iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) has a bit better looking screen than Galaxy Tab S4, because although it has a just a bit worse pixel count in each screen inch, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 2048 x 2732 pixels and a bigger screen. The Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) counts with a little bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Both have the same RAM amount and the same number of cores.
The Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018) shoots clearer pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, because although it has a lesser MP back-facing camera and a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture to capture better images and videos in poorly lited situations.

If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Galaxy Tab S4, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
