The Xperia Tablet Z has an overall score of 68.5, which is much better than Asus MeMO Pad 8's overall score of 61.2. Xperia Tablet Z is an older and heavier device than Asus MeMO Pad 8, but Sony managed to build it a bit thinner anyway. Both of these tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia Tablet Z has a newer 4.4.4 version while Asus MeMO Pad 8 has Android 4.4, so it gives you lots of additional features.
Xperia Tablet Z and Asus MeMO Pad 8 have quite similar screens, because although the Xperia Tablet Z has a bit lower screen density, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1200 x 1920px, it also counts with a larger screen. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z's storage capacity to install games and applications is just as good as the Asus MeMO Pad 8 one, they have equal internal storage capacity and a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB.
The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a little bit better hardware performance than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, they both have 2 GB of RAM memory and 4 cores. Xperia Tablet Z has a really longer battery life than Asus MeMO Pad 8. Sony Xperia Tablet Z shoots a bit better photos and videos than Asus MeMO Pad 8, because it has a way more mega pixels back camera and a way higher 1920x1080 video quality.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Asus MeMO Pad 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Asus MeMO Pad 8. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save some money and get the Asus MeMO Pad 8, giving up some features and specs.
