Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is way better than the Asus Transformer Prime, with a overall score of 70.2 against 56.3. Both tablets in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has a more recent 8.1 Oreo version and Asus Transformer Prime has Android 4.0.3 version, providing a couple nice extra features and performance improvements. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016)'s construction is much newer, much thinner and lighter than the Asus Transformer Prime.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a slightly better screen than Asus Transformer Prime, and although they both have a same size display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) also has a way better resolution of 1200 x 1920 and way more pixels per inch of display. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a little bit better hardware performance than Asus Transformer Prime, because it has a larger number of faster cores and 1 GB more RAM memory.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a bit better camera than Asus Transformer Prime, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same video definition and a camera with an 8 mega pixels, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) also has a lot bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low-light images.
The Asus Transformer Prime counts with a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), because although it has a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 32 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has a much longer battery performance than Asus Transformer Prime.
