The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a global score of 65.7, which is a bit better than the Asus ZenPad S 8.0's 62.2 overall score. Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is noticeably newer than the Asus ZenPad S 8.0, it is incredibly thicker and heavier. The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 has a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have 4 cpu cores, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 also has more RAM memory.

The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 has a better display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have a same size display, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 also has a way higher pixels amount per inch in the display and a way better resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) shoots greater photographs and videos than Asus ZenPad S 8.0. Both have a 8 MP resolution camera in the back, the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.

Asus ZenPad S 8.0 counts with much more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that admits 128 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) counts with a much longer battery life than Asus ZenPad S 8.0.
