Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a score of 67.9, which is much better than the Dell Venue 8 7840's global score of 61. Despite being the best in this comparison, Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a somewhat heavier and much thicker tablet device than the Dell Venue 8 7840. Both tablets in this comparison review come with the same Android 4.4 OS, so they should provide very similar operating system features.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a slightly better display than Dell Venue 8 7840, because although it has a just a little worse display density, and they both have the same 1600 x 2560 resolution, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with a little bigger display. The Dell Venue 8 7840 features a quite superior processing power than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, and although they both have the same number of cores and 2 GB of RAM memory, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also has an additional graphics co-processor and a 64-bit CPU.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 features a bit bigger storage to store more apps and games than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD card slot that supports up to 512 GB. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a bit better camera than Dell Venue 8 7840. Both of them have a same resolution camera in the back.
