Comparison review
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a score of 68.5, which is much better than the Dell Venue 8 7840's score of 61. Although it's the best portable tablet in this review, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is a extremely heavier and notably thicker portable tablet than Dell Venue 8 7840. Both tablets we compare here include Android operating system, but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has the previous 4.2.2 version and Dell Venue 8 7840 has Android 4.4.
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a little sharper screen than Dell Venue 8 7840, because although it has a bit worse pixels count per inch in the display, and they both have the same resolution of 1600 x 2560px, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with a little larger display. Dell Venue 8 7840 counts with just a little better processing power than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, and although they both have 2 GB of RAM and 4 CPU cores, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also has a much better 600 megahertz GPU and a 64 bits processing unit.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features just a bit better camera than Dell Venue 8 7840. Both have a camera in the back with an 8 MP resolution. The Dell Venue 8 7840 has a bit more memory for apps and games than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has just 16 GB internal storage, it also counts with an external memory slot that admits up to 512 GB.
