Microsoft Surface 3 has a general score of 66.3, which is slightly better than the Dell Venue 8 7840's 61 global score. Despite being the best portable tablet we compare here, the Microsoft Surface 3 construction is notably thicker and incredibly heavier than the Dell Venue 8 7840. The Dell Venue 8 7840 counts with a much better looking screen than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a way higher quantity of pixels per inch in the display and a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 has a greater hardware performance than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also counts with a 64 bits processing unit and an additional GPU.
