The Samsung Ativ Tab has a general score of 66.7, which is a bit better than Dell Venue 8 7840's general score of 61. Samsung Ativ Tab has Windows RT operating system, while Dell Venue 8 7840 works with Android 4.4 operating system. Even being the best in this comparison review, Samsung Ativ Tab is a much heavier and thicker tablet than the Dell Venue 8 7840.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 has a more powerful CPU than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have 2 GB of RAM, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also has a 64 bits CPU, a greater number of cores and a much better GPU running at 600 megahertz. The Dell Venue 8 7840 has a way better screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher 2560 x 1600 resolution and a lot greater pixel number per inch in the display.
Dell Venue 8 7840 shoots a little bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Ativ Tab, because it has a camera with much more megapixels. The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a quite bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Dell Venue 8 7840, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits 448 GB smaller, it also counts with 48 GB more internal storage capacity.
Samsung Ativ Tab has a much better battery performance than Dell Venue 8 7840.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Dell Venue 8 7840, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Dell Venue 8 7840. If you want to save some money, you can get Dell Venue 8 7840, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
