Comparison review
The Galaxy Note 10.1 is a little bit better than the Dell Venue 8 7840, having a global score of 66.3 against 61. These devices use the same Android 4.4 operating system. Despite being the best portable tablet in this comparison review, the Galaxy Note 10.1 construction is thicker and heavier than Dell Venue 8 7840.
Dell Venue 8 7840 counts with a lot better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher resolution of 2560 x 1600px and a way better number of pixels per display inch. Dell Venue 8 7840 has an extremely better CPU than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and although they both have a Quad-Core processor and the same RAM memory amount, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also has an additional graphics co-processor and a 64-bit processor.
Galaxy Note 10.1 counts with a little bit more storage for games and applications than Dell Venue 8 7840, because although it has a SD memory slot that supports 480 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Dell Venue 8 7840 takes much clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy Note 10.1, because it has a back facing camera with a much better 8 MP resolution.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 features a way better battery duration than Dell Venue 8 7840.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Dell Venue 8 7840, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Dell Venue 8 7840. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Dell Venue 8 7840, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
