The Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a general score of 70.7, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1's 67.2 global score. Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but Google Nexus 7 (2013) has newer 5.0 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has Android 4.4.2 version, giving lots of additional features and optimized performance. Google Nexus 7 (2013)'s design is noticeably lighter but just a little bit thicker than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and both of them were only released 8 months apart.

The Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a worse 400 megahertz graphics processing unit, and they both have the same number of cores, the Google Nexus 7 (2013) also counts with more RAM. Google Nexus 7 (2013) counts with a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, it also counts with a lot more pixels per inch in the screen and a much higher 1200 x 1920 resolution.
