The Google Nexus 9 is a bit better than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, getting a general score of 74.5 against 67.9. Both of these tablets have Android OS (operating system), but the Google Nexus 9 has a more recent 5.0 version and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 version, providing you some additional features.
