Both of these devices have Android OS, but Google Nexus 9 has a more recent 5.0 version and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has Android 4.4.2 version, so it counts with a couple additional features.

Google Nexus 9 features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, although it has a bit worse 2048 x 1536 resolution and a quite smaller display, they both have the same display density. The Google Nexus 9 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has 1 GB less RAM memory and less CPU cores (although faster), it also counts with a 64-bit processor.

Galaxy Tab S 10.5 features a much bigger storage to install games and applications than Google Nexus 9, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 128 GB. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has just a little bit longer battery performance than Google Nexus 9, because it has an 18% more battery capacity.
