The Google Nexus 9 has a global score of 74.5, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab S 8.4's general score of 74.4. Both of these tablets work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Google Nexus 9 has a newer 5.0 version and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has Android 4.4.2 version, so it counts with a lot of extra features. Google Nexus 9 is a much heavier and somewhat thicker tablet than Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

The Google Nexus 9 features a bit faster CPU than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has a lower amount of RAM and an inferior number of cores , it also counts with a 64-bits processing unit. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a slightly better looking display than Google Nexus 9, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a slightly higher 2560 x 1600 resolution and a bit more pixels per inch of screen.

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 captures a bit better videos and photos than Google Nexus 9. Both of them have the same video frame rates, the same 1920x1080 video definition and a back camera with an 8 mega-pixels resolution. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features much more memory capacity for games and applications than Google Nexus 9, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB.

The Google Nexus 9 features a much better battery life than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 37 percent greater battery capacity.

Although Google Nexus 9 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab S 8.4. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Google Nexus 9, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, giving up some specs and features.
