Microsoft Surface 2 is slightly better than Huawei MediaPad M1, with a 63.4 score against 61.5. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Huawei MediaPad M1 has Android 4.2.2 OS. Even being the best tablet in this comparison review, the Microsoft Surface 2 design is way heavier and somewhat thicker than the Huawei MediaPad M1.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit faster processing unit than Huawei MediaPad M1, and although they both have 4 processing cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Huawei MediaPad M1 has a bit better looking screen than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a much smaller screen, a lot lower 1280 x 800 resolution and a bit worse pixels count in each inch of display.
Microsoft Surface 2 has much more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei MediaPad M1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 56 GB more internal storage. The Huawei MediaPad M1 counts with a superior battery duration than Microsoft Surface 2. The Microsoft Surface 2 features a slightly better camera than Huawei MediaPad M1. Both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, a 5 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera and the same video frame rate.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Huawei MediaPad M1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei MediaPad M1. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Huawei MediaPad M1, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
