The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) has a score of 82.4, which is much better than the Huawei MediaPad M1's overall score of 61.5. The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) works with Windows 10 Pro OS, and Huawei MediaPad M1 works with Android 4.2.2 OS. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)'s body is incredibly newer, but a little thicker and heavier than the Huawei MediaPad M1.
Huawei MediaPad M1 features a slightly better looking display than Microsoft Surface Pro (2017), although it has a lot smaller display, a much worse count of pixels per inch of display and a much lower resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) counts with a superior memory to install games and applications than Huawei MediaPad M1, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 992 GB more internal memory capacity.
Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) has a little better performance than Huawei MediaPad M1, because although it has lesser cpu cores , it also counts with 15 GB more RAM. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) has just a bit better camera than Huawei MediaPad M1, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) also has a much more mega pixels back facing camera.
Huawei MediaPad M1 has a way better battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro (2017).
Although Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei MediaPad M1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei MediaPad M1. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017), else you can save some money and get the Huawei MediaPad M1, giving up a couple features and specifications.
