The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is better than Huawei MediaPad M1, getting a 70.2 score against 61.5. Even though Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is a lot newer than Huawei MediaPad M1, it is just a little bit thicker and a lot heavier. Both devices in this review come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has a newer 8.1 Oreo version while Huawei MediaPad M1 has Android 4.2.2, providing you a couple additional features.
The Huawei MediaPad M1 has a slightly better screen than Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), although it has a much smaller screen, a bit lower screen density and a way worse resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) counts with a much bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Huawei MediaPad M1, because it has a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 200 GB and more internal memory.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has just a bit better hardware performance than Huawei MediaPad M1, because it has a greater number of 1.6 GHz cores and a larger amount of RAM memory. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a much better battery life than Huawei MediaPad M1, because it has a 52% more battery capacity.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) takes way better photos and videos than Huawei MediaPad M1, and although they both have the same video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) also has a back camera with lot more mega-pixels.
