Both of these tablets use Android OS, but Huawei MediaPad M5 8 has older 8.0 Oreo version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has Android 9.0 Pie version. Huawei MediaPad M5 8 is a thinner and somewhat lighter tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), although both were released with only 8 months difference.
