The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a global score of 73.3, which is a bit better than Huawei MediaPad X2's overall score of 72.7. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4's construction is a bit thinner than Huawei MediaPad X2, but it's heavier and was released around 10 months before. Both tablets in this review include Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has 4.4.2 version and Huawei MediaPad X2 has Android 5.0.
The Huawei MediaPad X2 counts with just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have the same number of cores and 3 GB of RAM, the Huawei MediaPad X2 also has a 64-bits CPU. The Huawei MediaPad X2 has a little bit better looking display than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, although it has a little smaller display, a bit lower screen density and a way lower 1920 x 1200 resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 takes clearer videos and photos than Huawei MediaPad X2, although it has a back facing camera with a way lower resolution and a worse 1920x1080 video quality. The Huawei MediaPad X2 features a much greater storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 128 GB, the Huawei MediaPad X2 also has 16 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei MediaPad X2 features just a little better battery life than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity against 4900mAh.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 costs a bit more money than Huawei MediaPad X2, but you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
